About the painting:

In this piece, the background image is a calligraphic work that is from a short story by Tolstoy. In the story, a young boy comes home from an outing with his family, his mother starts playing the piano, and the boy starts painting a picture.

I overlaid my women under the lemon tree over the calligraphy. This is the first in what I hope to be a long series of work where images of reading women are in transparent form, and literary texts that I love are in solid background form.
